Crossing Over

I saw a comercial for American Idol last night and  I was thinking, alot of musicians are crossing over into the world of television. Steven Tyler is a judge on American Idol, Gene Simmons made Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Lady Gaga says she would love to be in movies, and a lot of singers have cameos in movies all the time.  Sometimes actors cross over into the world of music too. Do you think people should stay where they are or is it good to have actors that play music? Sometimes people do well when they cross over but alot of people don't, Ozzy Ozborn for example. He made a show about his family and it was canceled after not very long. I think that sometimes older singers used to be really famous but they arn't anymore and they try to hold onto their fame for as long as they can, but it doesn't always look good. Some people like Ozzy will be remembered for their music but also for his bad show at the end. Do you think people should quite while they are still good so people will remember them that way, or should they keep going until they finally have to quite even though they wern't as good at the end?

Child Stars

The runaways were the first all girl rockband and aside from Janis Joplin they were the first girl rockstars. They sang songs like Cherry Bomb and I love playin with fire. After they broke up Joan Jett started Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and she sang I love Rock n' Roll, Bad Reputation, and I Hate Myself for Loving you. The Runaways started in 1975 when Cherie Currie (the far left) and Joan Jett (in the red outfit) were only 15. About a year later when they were 16 they were very famous, especially in Japan.  I was wondering what you thought about child stars? are they good? are they bad? should they wait until they are older and finish school first? Michael Jackson was only 5 when he started singing with the jackson 5, Justin bieber was only 15 when he started and Willow Smith sang Whip My Hair when she was 9. They all got mixed reactions when they started but some of them are really famous now. What do you think?

Rumors

I know that most people wouldn't really like it if a bad rumor was made about them I wouldn't! Celebrities have alot of rumors made about them, but sometimes I wonder if rumors can help peoples fame.  For example Alice cooper wasn`t very famous when he played one of his first shows and somebody threw a chicken onto the stage, he threw the chicken off thinking  it would fly away but it just fell to the ground and was accidentaly killed. The next day the tabloids were saying that he bit off the chickens head and drank it`s blood. It sounds like a mean rumor that doesn`t really make him sound good, but everyone was talking about it and he got very famous. So I was wondering if you thought that even though rumors like that can be mean or hurtful sometimes they really help people on thier way to stardom? Is any publicity good publicity?
